Water Heater Replacement – 17th Street, Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach, FL

We partnered with ERA Fernandina Beach to complete a water heater replacement at a rental property on 17th Street on Amelia Island. Reliable hot water is essential for rental homes, and our team ensured this property was back up and running quickly and efficiently.

Upon arrival, we shut off the water at the main meter and disconnected power to the existing unit. While draining the old 66-gallon water heater, we encountered a clogged drain plug that required multiple attempts to clear. To speed up the process, we also utilized a pump to fully drain the tank.

Once drained, we disconnected the electrical components, removed the unit from its stand, and hauled it away. We then installed a new drain pan and a new brass shut-off valve before setting the new 50-gallon electric water heater in place.

Due to tight access, a metal shelf located in front of the heater had to be temporarily removed to safely extract the old unit and install the new one. After installation, the shelf was securely reinstalled.

We restored water service, purged air from the system, and thoroughly tested for leaks—none were found. Power was then restored, and the unit was confirmed to be operating properly. The water heater temperature was set to 130°F for optimal performance.

As part of our commitment to quality service, we also cleaned up the work area, including vacuuming debris caused by rain and leaves entering through the back door.
